Congratulations to All-State Jazz Band Selections

Congratulations to Chris Oatts, Eric Oatts, Leah Schmidt, and Katie Upton on being selected to the Iowa All-State Jazz Band.  Matt Gulleen was named as the top alto sax alternate.  The All-State Jazz Band performs on Thursday, May 13th at the Des Moines Marriott (prior to the Jazz Syndicate performance that same evening).

Congratulations to the Jazz Program

Congratulations to all of our jazz groups for their recent outstanding
performances.  The Jazz Lab finishes 4th out of 9 bands in
the second band class of the Indianola Jazz Festival.  This was by far the
highest finish ever for that band.  Congratulations also to the Jazz Band
for their 2nd place finish at the Indianola Jazz Festival, this is also a
great accomplishment.   The Jazz Syndicate finished in first place in Class
4A at both the Tallcorn and Indianola Jazz Festivals.   It has been a great
year for our entire jazz program.

Masterworks Concert

The high school Masterworks concert will be on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:30 pm.  Student report time will be 6:45 pm in the gym.   Concert black uniforms
will be the dress code.

Solo and Ensemble Contest

Our local solo and ensemble contest will be held on Monday, March 29th.  We
have been asking students to sign up and have not had a high number show
interest at this time.  If you have a student who would like to play at our
local solo and ensemble contest on that date, please be sure they sign up
soon.  Students will also have the opportunity to sign up for State solo and
ensemble contest on April 17th at Hoover High School.
